Again this one was lots of fun, and thanks to my marvelous mother-in-law who lets me "shop" at her supply of fabric, I hardly paid anything for the fabric.I just realized that I never posted pictures of a quilt I made for Anna. It was pretty simple, with large blocks. I made it a texture quilt, so there is corduroy, chenille, minky, and silk along with the cotton fabrics. I'm proud of this one because I did it without a pattern...I designed it myself! Granted, it's super basic, but it was new for me to figure out all the little details on my own.

We were looking at pictures and videos of your visit last spring. Made all the kids get nostalgic for you and Hattie, especially. Want to come again? Or maybe we need to plan a road trip to Texas this spring or summer . . .

You go Melanie! They are both beautiful. I think sewing is such a talent since I can't even sew a straight line! haha. I love the quilts that are just a mismatch of differnt patterns and textures, and when you can get the fabric for free! Good job!

These look great Melanie! How about a blog post tutorial?! :) I wouldn't know how to put it together without tying it. Did you sew the layers together with your own machine or did you have to have it quilted by a special machine?
Holy bananas! I am impressed but you alway do that when I get something you have made for me! I love my melanie specials :)
